Schon 4 Jahre ist es her, dass der Photograph Hiroshi Sugimoto in der Neuen Nationalgalerie in Berlin seine Werke ausstellte. Die Schwarz-Weiß Fotografie ist sein Metier. Dabei hat er oft einen Plan oder eine Idee, die zu ganzen Serien führt. Für die “Seascape” Serie reiste er durch die ganze Welt um das Meer als unveränderte Landschaft zu photographieren, so wie es den ersten Menschen begegnet ist und uns auch heute noch begegnen kann. Wasser, Horizont und Himmel haben sich nicht verändert…. Diese Idee faszinierte mich sehr und auch die Bilder, die alle in Schwarz-Weiß Wasser, Horizont und Himmel wiedergaben. Die Ausstellung verarbeitete ich dann in folgendem Triptychon: Mit einem Klick auf die Bilder können Sie sie größer auf Schwarz sehen. *******
Hiroshi Sugimoto and the Sea
Four years have already passed since the photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto presented his works in the New National Gallery at Berlin. His speciality is the white-black photography. It’s often an idea or a plan that initiates a whole series of photos. For the “Seascape” series he travelled allover the world to take photos of the sea as an unchanged landscape, just as the first humans saw it and as we still can see it. Water, the horizon and the sky haven’t changed … This idea fascinated me a lot and all the photos in black and white with just that, water, horizon, sky. After the show I dedicated a triptych to him: With a click on the works you can see them bigger and better on black,
